The opening weekend of AFL play began when the league champions Buffalo Bills defeated Boston 24-7. The Bills powerful defensive unit got the job done before 45,592 fans with defensive back, Charley Warner, at 170 pounds, the lightest man on the field, intercepting a pass by Boston’s Babe Parilli and racing 22 yards for a tie-breaking touchdown.
