This example demonstrates a called run play against a dime defense.  Explains how the index is raised by one and one-yard is added to any positive gain.  This is a perfect example of having the perfect play call “dialed up” against the defense but it still comes down to the dice roll.  Just like professional football, the coach on the sideline knows he has the defense exactly were he wants them but than an offensive lineman misses his block and the play is foiled.
