Houston vs Boston

Actual: George Blanda, a 16-year pro veteran, passed for 298 yards and three touchdowns as Houston walloped Boston 31-10 and remained in a tie with Buffalo for the Eastern Division lead. The Patriots took a 10-7 lead in the second quarter on a field goal by Gino Cappelletti and Jim Nance’s one-yard dive but Blanda brought the Oilers back, putting them ahead before half-time by connecting with Willie Frazier. Ode Burrell added to Houston’s strong showing with a 63-yard touchdown run.
