Actual: Veteran Jack Spikes kicked a 15-yard field goal with 17 seconds remaining Sunday to give the Houston Oilers a 38-36 American Football League win over the Kansas City Chiefs. The kick at Houston came after veteran George Blanda had moved Houston’s sputtering offense through the air for five touchdowns in the second half. Blanda replaced sophomore starter, Don Trull, in the third quarter. The Oilers trailed 17-0 at halftime when Blanda entered the game. The veteran player hit Charles Frazier for a 64-yard score on the first play and added other touchdowns with throws of 9, 49, 19 and 9-yards. The win broke the Oilers’ three-game losing streak.
