Steelers blow out the Colts in Prime Time

The Pittsburgh Steelers stayed undefeated on the season, 6-0, with a shellacking of the Indianapolis Colts, 37-7, Sunday Night at Three Rivers Stadium.

The Steelers offense scored on 10 of their 12 offensive possessions in the game and racked up 437 total offensive yards. They nearly had a shutout, but the Colts scored with 30 seconds remaining to erase the shutout.

Jerome Bettis overpowered the Colts with 158 yards rushing and 2 TDs on 29 carries. Kordell Stewart threw a TD pass and then left the game with a concussion in the second quarter. Mike Tomczak replaced him and threw for 149 yards and a TD.

The Steeler defense dominated the Colts and held them to 180 yards total offense until the final drive that included a 58-yard pass from Jim Harbaugh to Marshall Faulk.  The Steelers sacked Harbaugh four times.

The Steelers will hope to stay undefeated as they travel to the red-hot Bengals, while the Colts, 1-5, face the Bills at home on Monday Night Football.
