Davis & Elway lead the Broncos past the Raiders
The Broncos offense finally got into high-gear Sunday afternoon as they defeated the Oakland Raiders 28-14 at Oakland-Alameda Co. Coliseum.
The Broncos rolled up 493 total yards of offense enroute to their 6th win of the season. RB Terrell Davis rushed for 208 yards on 26 carries, while John Elway rushed for another 27 yards and 2 TDs. Elway also threw for 248 yards on 22 completions with 2 TDs, one to Davis and another to TE Shannon Sharpe.
Davis is having a career season. On the season, Davis has rushed for 898 yards and 8 TDs through 7 games. He is on pace for to rush for 2,052 yards. He along with Barry Sanders are on pace for that historic mark.
The Raiders continue to get explosive play from their QB Jeff George. He threw for 311 yards and 2 TDs and still hasn’t thrown an interception this season. He threw an 85-yard TD pass to WR James Jett.
The Broncos (6-1) will travel to Buffalo next to take on the Bills. The Broncos are hoping to keep pace with division-leading Chiefs, who are currently undefeated. The Raiders (1-6) will head up to the Pacific Northwest to take on the Seahawks.
