Cowboys Win (Finally!), Top Bears 27-24

Bears-Cowboys Recap

I like what Mark Zarb does with his replay – by illustrating how the “actual” game played out as well as his replay game.  Well, in 2016 the Cowboys beat the Bears pretty handily 31-17.  Not so easy in my replay.  Although, Dallas entered the fourth quarter with a comfortable 27-10 lead . . . they still almost found a way to lose!  Matt Barkley (Matt Barkley??!!??) led Chicago to two fourth quarter touchdowns and fell just short of pulling off the upset!

The next game is actually a “crossover” game – the Cowboys and the 49ers.  It will actually count for both my Cowboys replay as well as a first round match in my NFL single-elimination tournament.

Washington 27, Dallas 24

Cowboys-Redskins Recap

Well, I was so excited when I started this parallel replay of the Cowboys’ 2016 season to go along with my annual tournament.  Being a life-long Dallas fan, I wanted to see if I could recreate their great 2016 campaign (13-3).

Well, either I am a lousy coach or just damned unlucky, but after an 0-2 start, no one can accuse me of “playing favorites!”

It is interesting, though . . . In the actual 2016 season opener, the Cowboys lost to the Giants 20-19.  In my replay, Dallas lost 21-19!

In their actual second game in Washington, the Cowboys won 27-23.  This one they dropped 27-24.  So, maybe not as far off as one would think!  Bears up next!!

San Diego vs. Oakland

Chargers – Raiders

In the first upset of my tournament, the #3 seeded Raiders fell to the #14 seed, San Diego 25-14!

My next game will actually be the first game of my Dallas Cowboys replay, based on the actual schedule they had for 2016.  So, they play the Giants first.  Ironically, the Cowboys are scheduled to play the 49ers in both my Tournament and in the season replay, so, when that game comes up, I will be playing one Dallas-San Francisco game that will count for each of my projects!!
