Chiefs obliterate the Dolphins
What is the biggest surprise of the 1997 NFL campaign? The Chiefs being 6-0 OR the Dolphins being 0-5. Many would say that they are more surprised with Jimmy Johnson’s Dolphins not scratching the win column in 1997.
The Chiefs pounded the Dolphins, 34-13, in front of 71,794 fans in Pro Player Stadium on Sunday. The Chiefs defense held the Dolphins rushing attack to just 39 yards. Then the Chiefs sacked Marino & Erickson a combined six times.
On the flip side, the Chiefs pounded the Dollphins on the ground racking up 200 yards rushing. The Chiefs got 64 and 2 TDs from Greg Hill, 50 yards and a TD from Kimble Anders, 35 yards from Marcus Allen and 21 yards from Donnell Bennett.
The Chiefs will go into the bye undefeated, while the Dolphins try to get into the win column next week against the Jets.

Chiefs dominate Hawks to stay undefeated.
One of the surprise teams in 1997 is the Kansas City Chiefs. Last year, the Chiefs joined the Green Bay Packers on the cover of Sports Illustrated in a pre-season football prediction for the two teams that would represent the AFC and NFC in the Super Bowl. SI got the Packers right, but they just might have been a year early predicting the Chiefs’ to represent the AFC.
The Chiefs were on the warpath in Arrowhead Sunday, and they demolished the Seattle Seahawks, 25-13, in a game that was much more lopsided than the final score indicated. The Chiefs jumped out early which included a defensive safety to give them a 16-0 lead. Elvis Grbac has continued to look solid as the Chiefs’ QB as he tossed two more TDs to his running backs Greg Hill and Kimble Anders.
The Chiefs are now 3-0 and will travel to Miami to take on the 0-4 Dolphins. The Seahawks dropped to 2-3 and will host the Tennessee Oilers next week.
