Another injury to Carson Wentz . . . . . . another loss for the Eagles!

Another injury to Carson Wentz . . . . . . another loss for the Eagles!

I’m not exactly sure how either of these teams made it this far in my tournament – they are awful!!! Of course, Cincinnati did not have Andy Dalton or Joe Mixon, both out nursing injuries . . . . but neither team could move the ball at all! And, it wasn’t because of great defense!!!
Well, if anyone ever accuses me of playing favorites, this game ought to settle that argument. Watching my beloved Cowboys go down in flames against Kirk Cousins and the Vikings was a painful way to spend three hours!! They haven’t been eliminated from the tournament yet, but they did NOT show up for this game at all! Nine sacks of Dak Prescott?!!? Ouch!!
After watching Mitch Trubisky and the Bears on TV last night, it is hard to remember that they were 12-4 last year!! Well, they played a great game against the Packers in my tournament, bouncing Green Bay from the tournament.
Well . . . . it took me 36 games in this tournament, but we finally have our first shutout! A completely dominating performance by Brady and Company . . . . Sorry Greg and Mark . . .

So far, I’ve played two games in Round three of my playoffs, and I’ve had two upsets!! Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers have eliminated Russell Wilson and the favored Seattle Seahawks 25-23 in another game that went down to the final seconds!
This was a pretty big upset! Houston was the #4 seed in the AFC, but got nothing out of Deshaun Watson in this 3-point loss – and now they have been bounced from the playoffs! And, lowly Jacksonville moves on!
OK . . . I have completed the first two rounds of my tournament – 32 games, and I am down to 24 teams. Each team has played two games and anyone who has lost both of their games has been eliminated. That leaves eight teams who are undefeated (2-0) and 16 teams who are 1-1.
The unbeatens will each play another unbeaten team, and the 1-1 teams will all play a team that is also 1-1. This will result in 8 more teams with a second loss, which will eliminate them. The unbeaten teams have all qualified for the 16-Team single elimination part of this tournament – they are playing for seeding now.
So, at the end of this round of games, I will have 16 remaining qualifiers, eight in each conference. Four of these teams will have 3-0 records, and the other twelve will be 2-1.
Now the fun really starts! Here is the schedule for Round Three:
Elimination Bracket (Each team 1-1) Winner’s Bracket (2-0)
33: Jacksonville at Houston 37: Indianapolis at Baltimore
34: Carolina at Seattle 38: Minnesota at Dallas

36: Green Bay at Chicago 44: Atlanta at New Orleans
39: Cincinnati at Tennessee
40: Washington at Philadelphia

42: Detroit at LA Rams
