Boniol kicks Eagles to victory! Cowboys continue to lose!

Veteran’s Stadium witnessed a typical NFC East clash as the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys battled Sunday afternoon. The game down to the final ticks of the clock and the Cowboys’ season continues to slide out of control.

The Cowboys started off quickly as QB Troy Aikman hit WR Michael Irvin on a 13-yard TD pass to give the Cowboys a 7-0 lead. Then disaster struck. Aikman was drilled on an incomplete pass and was taken off the field with a concussion. Backup QB Wade Wilson had to come into game and the Cowboys’ offense hit a wall.

Midway through the 4^th quarter and the game tied at 10, the Cowboys and Wilson finally went on drive. Emitt Smith exploded for his biggest gain of the game for 21 yards and put the Cowboys into position to win the game. But… Richie Cunningham’s field goal was blocked and that thwarted any chance the Cowboys had at winning the game.

The Eagles took the ball and continued to move it. Detmer hit some key passes to Michael Timpson and Ricky Watters. Detmer moved the ball down to the Cowboys’ 18-yard line and that’s when Chris Boniol kicked the game winner with no time remaining, 13-10.

Next week, the Cowboys will travel to San Francisco to take on the Niners. The rivals are heading in different directions. The Cowboys have lost 4 straight and are 3-5 on the season, while the Niners have won six in a row and are 6-2 on the season.

The Eagles 3-5 also and they will travel to Arizona to take on the struggling Cardinals.
